About CARESTREAM OnSight 3D Extremity System

The CARESTREAM OnSight 3D Extremity System uses cone beam technology to provide pristine, low-dose 3D images of upper and lower extremities including weight-bearing. An easy-open patient access door allows weight-bearing studies not possible with traditional CT. Minimal site and install requirements enable a fast, affordable, and convenient imaging process at the point of care for timely diagnosis and commencement of treatment. The system can improve the visibility of patient anatomy even in the presence of metal with its proprietary metal artifact reduction software. The system is ideal for orthopaedic practices, hospitals and imaging centers.

Benefits At A Glance:

  • Provides high-resolution, isotropic 3D images that can help to reveal subtle or occult fractures, assess healing, useful for pre-surgical planning, evaluation of joint spacing and more

  • Reduced dose compared to conventional CT systems

  • Carestream’s Tri-Source Technology utilizes 3 X-ray sources to capture 600 views per scan, yielding far more anatomical detail and reduces cone beam artifacts.

  • May be installed at the preferred location for patient treatment in your orthopaedic practice for convenient imaging, diagnosis and treatment planning in one visit

  • Small footprint and simplified design to cut the time and cost of system installation, compared to conventional CT systems

  • Large field of view

  • Advanced metal and scatter correction algorithms

  • Reduced noise via algorithmic iterative reconstruction techniques

  • Ability to perform both high-resolution 2D and 3D exams

  • Wide door opening for easy, step-in patient access for weight-bearing exams

  • Simplified user interface to guide the technologist through the exam

  • Fast equipment setup with preprogrammed auto-positions

  • Easy interoperability in a DICOM supported environment

  • Keeps the imaging service and potential revenue stream in-house

  • Ability to share comprehensive 3D images with your patients to explain their condition and facilitate agreement on treatment

  • High-tech 3D imaging that can differentiate your practice
